extradiegetic: In this text the better part has the form of dramatic dialogue or monologue, often as inner thought. Only in between is the story told as third person narrative, with almost imperceptible transition between monologue (or thought) and narration. Although the story has two main protagonists, the innkeeper and Wu Song, the whole piece is only meant to be performed by one singer who acts both the narrator and the impersonater of all the roles.
